In my store front in San José

Hola,

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Priscilla and I am the illustrator and owner at Holalola. I turned my love for illustration and travel into a brand of paper and textile souvenirs. I love to portrait nature and Latin American culture, which is so colorful into my prints. I live in San José with my husband, son and two cats and two dogs.

HOW I STARTED:

I started Holalola in 2013 in my birth country, Costa Rica. While traveling to San Francisco, I stumbled upon a beautiful travel inspired calendar "This is San Francisco" magically illustrated by Miroslav Sasek. I wished he had illustrated Costa Rica, I said to myself when I read he had long passed away. In that moment I knew it was me who had to illustrate my country and travels in a whimsical way. I arrived from the trip and started working on it, I was so focused and sure.

Our brand has grown and my love for culture and color grows with it. While my work is filled with the colours and images of my country, other places I have fallen in love with, such as México and other countries of Latin America now also for part of my illustration repertoire,

OUR HOUSE:

We have a beautiful store in San José that welcomes tourists from literally all over the world, who take Holalola prints and products to remember their travels. Our products are also sold in little tourist shops and the airport. Outside Costa Rica we distribute our products in Guatemala, with illustrations of their wonderful volcanoes and nature, and through Faire, we have been lucky to sell our products in amazing stores in the US, mostly owned by vibrant latina women.

We love to share our wanderlust love.

OUR PRODUCTS:

My first love was paper, and textile followed soon. We have done collaborations with other brands as well, and the biggest yet is a peel&stick collaboration with the US brand RoomMates.

Three of our Costa Rican inspired designs are part of their newest collection.
